West Bengal's CM Mamata Banerjee slams Centre over withheld MGNREGA funds and repeated inspections. High Court's OBC list ruling adds to federalism tensions.

Kolkata: The west bengal chief minister on Wednesday reiterated in the press briefing that the centre must clear all dues and arrears of the different schemes like MNREGA  held with the centre then they can proceed with sending the teams in West Bengal for inspection.

The west bengal administration has been seeing questioning the centre with serious questions about how India's federalism is in real practice at its display. The chief minister remarked that the public money is being held by the centre arbitrarily and the centre is going roughshod with the powers to send teams again and again.

In the past day the kolkata High court went heavy on the State governments new OBC list inclusion of the new communities by the OBC department and made the executive notice unconstitutional and gave a stay order. To this the chief minister said our legal team is reviewing the order and we are  processing the honorable High court order. The executive notice is for the larger common good for the poor community.

Coming to the MGNREGA scheme, the chief minister Mamata Banerjee reiterated that the the centre had stopped the funds for the scheme for four years under the schemes of MGNREGA, Awas yojna, and rural developments work despite the West Bengal Government providing clarification as asked by the centre.

"You sent about 155 to 156 teams to Bengal for clarification and the government of West Bengal give all responses first provide all the money for arrears people work but they  were not paid " Said the chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

"For the past 4 years you have not release a single rupee when our MP and MLA  protested in Delhi cases were filed against them the so called half minister did not meet us despite giving us time we paid workers from our funds ,we have  already started the Karma-shree scheme with the state money " said the chief minister Mamata Banerjee.

The west bengal government has been paying the workers it's due from the state funds and they are managing it throughout. The chief minister claimed that there is politics going on in the development of the state while mentioning the stay order of the High court on OBC list inclusion of new communities.

The state government has included 49 subsection under the OBC A category and 91 under the OBC B category via the executive order to which the kolkata High court has struck down and had put stay order and asked the department to follow the old orders of the supreme court and the high court to go ahead with reservation policy.

The High court found that there were irregularities made while doing the survey and maintaining the sub section under the different OBC certificate categories . And therefore it went with a stay order on the same.
