Sourcing hierarchy
Not all sources carry the same weight. Here's how we rank them, and how we expect them to be used in our own reporting.
Gazette notifications, official circulars, court orders
The highest tier. Any claim about a rate, deadline, or rule change must trace back to one of these. If we can't find a primary source, we say so explicitly rather than presenting an estimate as fact.
Press releases, RTI responses, official portal listings
Used to confirm or add context to primary sources — never as the sole basis for a claim about entitlements, dates, or figures.
Other verified media coverage
Used only for context or to flag developing stories — always clearly marked as secondary, and never as the basis for a calculator or a specific figure.
Core principles
Correction & update policy
When we get something wrong, we don't quietly edit it away. Every corrected article carries a visible correction note stating what changed and when.
- Time-sensitive content (DA rates, exam dates, deadlines) carries a "last verified on" tag.
- Material errors are corrected within 24 hours of being flagged.
- Corrections are never buried — they appear at the top of the article, not the bottom.
Author & reviewer accountability
Every article carries a byline, and policy-related pieces are cross-checked by a second team member before publishing.
- Bylines identify who wrote the piece.
- Compliance review is credited separately where applicable.
Advertising & sponsorship disclosure
We accept advertising and partnership inquiries, but sponsored content is always labeled as such — clearly, at the top of the piece, not in fine print.
- Sponsored posts never influence our editorial coverage or rankings elsewhere on the site.
- We do not accept payment from coaching institutes, portals, or agencies in exchange for favorable coverage.
AI-assisted content disclosure
Some of our workflows use AI tools to assist with drafting, translation, or organizing research — never to originate factual claims without human verification.
- Every fact, figure, and source citation is verified by a human before publication.
- Calculator logic is built and checked against official formulas by our editorial team, not generated automatically.
Conflict of interest
We don't accept payment or favors to promote any coaching institute, political party, or private entity in our coverage.
- Team members disclose any personal affiliation relevant to a story before writing it.
- We do not run editorial content designed to favor one exam-prep provider over another.
Data & privacy on our tools
Our calculators (DA, pension, and salary tools) process the numbers you enter locally in your browser.
- We do not store, log, or transmit the figures you enter into any calculator.
- No personal financial data is shared with any third party.
